I froze to death, while the ship stopped in port. [And - perhaps understandably - she doesn't look too happy about it.

She's not in the infirmary anymore though. She'd stayed until the residual cold was bearable, and had waited until she felt completely back to normal before trying to address the Barge and ask the questions she's been sitting on since she wound up in the infirmary.]

How often does that happen? Why didn't anyone tell me that could happen?

[She's trying to hold it together, present herself as the calm, cool and collected future queen she's been trying to be for the last three years, but people can probably see the cracks in her veneer because this is all just... beyond crazy.]

[He's absolutely right. So far, she's had a lot of people point out that they'd had control issues, that they just needed to learn to accept their powers as a part of themselves, and it's just... not that easy for her. She's come into a new appreciation for them, it's true, but they're still not something she wants to expose others to. She just wants to be left alone.]

Everyone seems very... open, with what they're capable of. Thus far.

[Spock takes a sip of the tea, and then stares at his hands, still cupped around the glass.]

[There's a faint note of perplexity in his voice - he is open only because it's more to protect other people than to protect himself; humans are really fond of physical contact.]

The events that occur aboard often do not leave much room for privacy.

[Plenty of people already saw her at her worst, and that wasn't even what she's capable of when she has her full powers at her disposal.]

It is a source of discomfort for many, and unfortunately cannot be accurately described unless it is experienced.

I can create ice. And snow. [It's the first time she's really admitted it out loud, and while she's not saying it with pride (or anything close to that, really), it's still good to be able to tell someone without necessarily being afraid of what their reaction will be.]

[She states it as an objective truth, so Spock accepts it as such. He displays neither fascination or revulsion, only curiosity.]

Yes. [And she has no idea why, because no one else in her family has it, and she's never met anyone else who does, either.]

Is touch telepathy common, amongst your people?

Yes. It was not always so.

Kind of hard to get someone to want to be around you if you might accidentally freeze them.]

[Spock refills his finished cup of tea, and lets a comfortable silence lapse before speaking.]

Is there truly no one who shares your abilities, or knows anything about them? Pardon me if this is too personal.

There are some that know about them, [Even if they hadn't been that much help, in some ways.] But I haven't spoken to them in a long time. I've never met anyone who shares them, or anything close to them.

[Some that know, but they left her alone. He sympathises, a little.]

I am half-human, and as far as I know, the only one.

That must have been difficult.

[There is a very small, teasing glint in his eye that colours his tone, but he'll deny having a sense of humor.]
