[This is the first time Elsa - the real Elsa, not someone from a flood - has thought to post publicly to the network in a long time. She's out and about more often now rather than hiding in her room almost exclusively, but it's still... hard. Everything about this has been hard, and she just wants it to stop.]

I've been doing a lot of thinking- [About a lot of things, but really one thing in particular.] About people with powers. People like me.

What's it like for them, in your world? If they exist.

[She's tempted to leave it at that, but.]

Most of the stories I've heard haven't been very reassuring.

[So the idea of life after the Barge is not really an exciting thing to consider.]

How?

Legal work, mostly. You should ask Daneca, she knows more about it, but - basically there are laws that people who don't like workers use to keep us from integrating into society. So, the idea is, change the laws, change the way we're treated. Maybe eventually change the way people think about us.

It sounds like a good idea. But people are still afraid?

People are always gonna be afraid of something. Especially if they don't know anything about it.

Does knowing more help?

It helped me. I think it'll help other people who aren't workers. It's the mystery that makes this shit scary, you know?

I don't.

[Everyone hadn't been afraid until the mystery hadn't been a mystery anymore.]

[He makes a curious noise.]

What do you know? [It's not snide, just legitimately interested.] Like, do you think I'm full of it, or--?

No, I believe you.

My experience is just very... different, from most other people here. I'd never met anyone else with powers until I came here, and when everyone found out at hom, they weren't exactly- [Well. They'd called her a monster and basically chased her out. She's here because they hunted her down and cared her.] Supportive.

So you're the only one? Shit. I didn't know that.

There could be others. I've just never met them.

[Or heard about them, outside of fairytales or stories.]

I'm the only one like me. If that, you know. Helps at all.

Is it like mutation? Everyone has something different?

Not exactly. There's only seven kinds of work. But other than that it seems like it's pretty similar.

Do you know why you're the only one?

I . . . have no idea. There's just always only been one transformation worker. Like a story, you know? The mythical whatever.

Was it difficult, being the only one?

I'm sorry. If you don't want to answer, you don't have to.

No, it's cool. It was really difficult. It was kind of insane, actually. Everybody wanted to use me for something.

Could you stop them?

I probably could have. But I didn't really go about it that smart.

Talking to you just makes me think, if I'd told everybody about it - I mean everybody, everyone in the whole world - maybe it would've been less of a big deal. I mean, it would still have been dangerous, yeah, but at least it would have been out there. No more secrets.
